Your despatch No.10 staff colonial Administrative Service. with the impending withdrawal of British Administration from Falestine, members of the public service in that territory will be available for
re-posting, and in this connection it is thought that either of the following officers of the Administrative Service might be suitable for transfer to Hong song to replace ar. Acwhirter.
(a) B.R.Reeves. District Commissioner, £1300 plus £350 Expatriation allowance per annum. Born 1909 Educated Hobart High school, Tasmania and Royal Military College, Duntroon, Australia. Appointed to Administrative Service Nigeria 1932 and transferred to Palestine 1938; appointed District Commissioner Samaria District, June 1947. Chief Secretary reports "Conduct excellent; not an impressive personality but stronger than he looks. A well-trained officer whose work at Nablushas gained him recent promotion. thoroughly reliable and competent district officer without any particular brilliance. The High Commissioner adds "I agree; average but satisfactory" Person named is married with one child and has
indicated that for family reasons he would like to serve in Malaya or Hong Kong. Family reasons
referred to are as follows:- child is a deaf mute who has to undergo special treatment in Australia and person named wishes for a posting not too distant
